While a lawyer's own reputation and word of mouth help produce local clients, the need for legal services extends far beyond his realm.

Campbell's List is a directory of selected lawyers and law firms in general practice throughout the United States, Canada and more than 60 foreign countries. Our members are chosen for their ability and willingness to offer a wide variety of legal services to other attorneys and prospective clients outside their immediate geographical area. These services may or may not include the collection of commercial claims.

Campbell's List limits the number of attorneys. In most cases, our members have an exclusive listing for a given town or geographical area; however, areas of greater population and commercial importance may have multiple listings, but assuredly not to the extent found in other directories. Because Campbell's List makes the recommendation, the publisher expects to give any necessary assistance to expedite the handling of referrals.

Campbell's List is not merely a collection list circulated among commercial and retail collection agencies -- many other lists serve this field. We've made this directory available to the law office whose clients occasionally may need the services of out-of-town counsel. These clients are sometimes referred directly to our members. Referring attorneys act as associate counsel, generating fees based upon the division of work and responsibility. Campbell's List does not recommend a fee schedule and leaves that entirely up to what is customary and mutually acceptable between parties.

Every March, thousands of copies are distributed free of charge to the offices of lawyers, state and local courts, libraries, consulates, military installations, manufacturing and wholesale concerns, banks, leasing companies, insurance companies, credit unions and a variety of other businesses. The vast majority, however, are found in law offices where the List has gained the respect and loyal patronage of five generations of American and foreign counsel.

Contributing to the List's popularity as a handy and reliable ready reference is the inclusion of a growing selection of PROCESS SERVERS and COURT REPORTERS. Contacting sheriffs and county clerks is made easy by lists of all counties and county seats.

There is no easier, economical or faster way to locate our members. We are always eager to promote the satisfactory attorney-attorney and client-attorney relationships with tact and discretion when called upon for assistance. If one of our members cannot accept a tendered referral, we are pleased to make alternate recommendations.

Included in our listings are names, addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers, E-mail addresses, web sites and abbreviations for preferred areas of practice. Practice profiles are available to those who desire more space and detail.

Charges for listings are based upon a combination of population, territory and commercial importance.

Campbell's List is published annually in March and supplemented in September. Copies are provided free of charge upon request.

All members receive copies of the List.
